WHAT IS AGEING SKIN ?

 WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF AGEING SKIN 

Ageing skin visibly changes in several ways , and a lot of it has to do things beyond your controls . 




- rough , dry and itchy .
- The loss of the elasic tissue in the skin with age causes your skin to become slack and hang loosely. 
- Transparent . This is caused by thinning of the epidermis and dermis. 
- Fragile . Increased  skin fragility is caused by flattening of the area  were the epidermis and dermis . 
- More prone to developing skin lesions , such as non - cancerous tumors. 

HOW DOES THE SUN CAUSE AGING OF THE SKIN ?



The sun's ultraviolet light damages certain fibres in the skin called elastin . The breakdown of elastin fibres causes the skin to sag , stretch and lose its ability to snap back after stretching. The skin also bruises and tears more easily and takes longer to heal . Sun damage although the skin  can sometimes repair itself . So delay the changes associated with aging by staying out of the sun . A sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher can protect your skin . Reapplying sunscren every 2 hours or sooner to get wet or sweat heavily will make an even bigger differences .

WHAT ARE THE FACTORS CAUSE CHANGES TO YOUR SKIN ?



There are many other reasons of your skin ages as you get older, though  they are : 
1. GRAVITY - 
When the skin loses its elasticity , gravity causes  drooping of the eyebrows and eyelids, looseness and fullness under the cheeks , jaw and ear lobes . 

2. OBESITY -
Excess weight causes skin to strech and decrease the strength and luster of the hair and nails  and it also causes skin conditions including dark patches on the skin , growths that stick out from the skin , stretch marks , and varicose veins . 

3. DAILY FACIAL MOVEMENTS -
Lines on the face become more visible after the skin starts losing its elasticity , usually as people reach their 30s and 40s . Lines may appear horizontally on the forehead , vertically on the skin above the top of the nose , or as small curved  lines on the temples , upper cheeks and around the mouth . 

4. SLEEPING POSITION - 
Sleep creases are commonly seen on  the side of the forehead ,starting above the eyebrows to the hairlines near the temples , as well as on the middle of the cheeks .Changing your sleep positions may improve these sleep creases or prevent them from becoming worse . 

5. SMOKING - 
People who smoke tend to have more wrinkles than nonsmokers of the same age, complexion and history of sun exposure . It may be because smoking interferes with normal blood flow in the skin . 

6. DRY AND ITCHY SKIN - 
Dry skin is common in later life . about 85 % of older people develop winter itch, overheated indoor air is dry. Dry skin itches it is irrited easily . Skin is very dry and itchy, this condition can affect your sleep, cause irritability , it could be a symptoms of a disease. 

WHAT ARE THE SKIN CHANGES CAUSE THE AGEING SEEN IN THE FACE ?

Skin across your body isn't the only place it changes . Aging skin can aslo changes the appearance of your face . Some factors included they are :



1. Loss of fat below the skin in your cheeks , chin , nose and eye area . This may result in lossening skin, sunken eyes and a " skeletal " appearance . 

2. Bone loss may become evident after age 50 and cause slack skin and puckering of the skin around your mouth . 

3. Cartilage loss in the nose causes drooping of the nasal tip and makes the bony  structures inn the nose easier to see .
