  SWEET SYNDROME : Sweet syndrome is a very rare inflammatory skin condition characterized by a sudden onset of fever and painful rash on the arms, legs, trunk, face, or neck. It’s also known as acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis.  Sweet syndrome occurs with other medical conditions such as cancer, gastrointestinal infections, or pregnancy. Occasionally, Sweet syndrome results when people use certain medications. These include some antibiotics, like co-trimoxazole (Bactrim ), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), like Advil.  Treatment for Sweet syndrome involves corticosteroid medications, such as prednisone, which are used to reduce inflammation. In most cases, medications reduce or get rid of symptoms. Treating the medical problem may resolve your symptoms if an underlying condition is causing Sweet syndrome.   PSEUDOXANTHOMA ELASTICUM : Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) refers to a group of rare inherited disorders that affect the elastic  connective tissue  of the skin, eyes, and  blood vessels . PXE, alternatively called Gronblad-Strandberg  syndrome , was first described in 1881 and occurs when abnormal  calcification  and mineralization of  elastic fibres  in affected tissues occur. It is characterised by yellow  papules  and  plaques  (which may mimic xanthomas), skin laxity, and  ocular   manifestations  that may incur vision loss at later stages.  WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF  PSEUDOXANTHOMA ELASTICUM ? UVEITIS : Uveitis generally refers to a range of conditions that cause inflammation of the middle layer of the eye, the uvea, and surrounding tissue. It can be painful, the eye or eyes may be red, and vision can be cloudy. An injury to the eye, a viral or bacterial infection, and some underlying diseases may cause uveitis. It can cause swelling and damage in the tissue of the eye. Untreated, it may lead to vision loss and other issues. It can affect one or both eyes. The term uveitis refers to an inflammation of the uvea and any part of the inside of the eye. Several types of uveitis exist with a number of potential causes.It mainly affects people aged 20- 60 years .  Uveitis is a general term used to describe a group of diseases that cause red eyes, eye pain and inflammation.   PEMPHIGOID GESTATIONIS  [ PG ] : Pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is a rare, itchy skin eruption that usually happens in the second or third trimester of pregnancy. It often begins with the appearance of very itchy red bumps or blisters on your abdomen and trunk, though it can show up on other parts of your body. PG is caused by your immune system mistakenly attacking your own skin. It usually goes away on its own within days or weeks after delivery. In rare cases, it can last longer. Pemphigoid gestationis used to be known as herpes gestationis, but it’s now understood that it has no connection to the herpes virus. There are also other types of pemphigus  or pemphigoid skin eruptions, not related to pregnancy. Pemphigus  refers to a blister or pustule, and  gestationis  means “of pregnancy” in Latin.
